Antalya Streets
I had a collection of odds and sods photographs on Antalya Streets on my hard disk and also some I had taken recently so I thought I’d post them here. Enjoy.

About a year ago I discovered this artist workshop. His name is Başir Kasumov and he was keen to point out that he had studied at a famous Art Academy in Moscow and as you can see he proudly shows off his Diploma in one of the photos.
I was more impressed by the paintings than the diploma though as he has a really original style and is obviously very talented. If you are in Antalya and want to check them out yourself he is situated very close to Hadrians Gate inside Kaleiçi.
The reason it has taken so long to post the photos is because I was going to go back with a Turkish friend to interview him but I have yet to get around to that. Maybe one day, who knows. In the meantime check out his work below.
I saw a couple of nice paintings outside what looked like a restaurant in Kaleiçi so I went inside and it turns out it was a Pansiyon but with lots of interesting Art exhibited on the walls so I asked if I could take some photos and here they are.
A street man in Kaleiçi called Deniz took me to a workshop of Sadrettin Savaş who makes Clay Models of people in various guises. Apparently there are not many people who can do this kind of work anymore and so the artist is working hard to produce as much as he can which is great because I think they are really cool.
If you would like to order some you can contact him on 0536 512 2019 or email sadri@karikaturheykelsadrettin.com.
While I was walking around Kaleiçi in Antalya I bumped in Deniz or rather he bumped into me. lol. Basically he is a man who calls himself a tour guide and indeed he is although I don’t think he works under a licence of any description so good on him.
He started telling me about the history of this and that and as I don’t know much about the history of Antalya it all sounded good to me so I let him continue.
He started telling me about this old Mosque and so I asked if we could go inside and he could tell the camera which he was more than happy to do. I found what he had to say quite interesting and I hope you do too.
Afterwards we went for a walk around Kaleiçi finding a nice spot to drink some beer and play music on my portable stereo. We had a nice afternoon together and of course I had to tip him for his friendly service.
